Summer Chronicles Part 2
Where did I leave off? July was a month full of lots of little projects, a Christmas present, and a Prayer Shawl. I had planned on doing a little more designing, but I’m glad to have finished one of my Christmas presents, and a Prayer Shawl is not something you have a choice in planning to make or the timing.
I started August off with getting 1 (of 3 planned) designs on my knitting needles. This design is inspired by Ukrainian artist Polina Raiko, taking what I see in her art and putting it into knitting, working with stitch patterns and yarn colour.

Now, I was continuing on with my 3 × 3 ribbing on my Ripple Camisole. I took this everywhere I went to try and work through the ribbing. When I got to the end of the ribbing, I was on the home stretch, the cupping for the front and back was easy, and fairly quick to work up. This is a pattern I would make again, especially if I needed a mindless project to work on. This took 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn, and I used 2 skeins from a stash of Anne of Green Gables inspired yarn from Peggy May Yarns. I marled the colours when I switched, and it turned out so good. I am very pleased with this project and it’s so comfortable to wear.

As soon as I finished my Ripple Camisole, I immediately started the Ripple Bralette. Similar pattern, different garment, same designer. I am using a skein I had in my stash, that was the same as 2 others, but the speckling was so vastly different, I had to use it on its own. So far, it’s turning out so good, but it’s on the back burner for now.

A side quest project (more like design) happened. This is the Remember Me Shawl. A design that came through to support a friend who is caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. I chose to once again use Estelle Colour Flow yarn. It’s a favourite of mine. Ever so soft, light as a feather, and quick to knit up. The garter stitch section represents the memories you create over your life, and the eyelets are representative of the memories that this horrible disease takes from you. Last, but not least, I have been looking for a cardigan to go with a dress, to wear to a wedding in October. It was suggested that I make the cardigan. I had just been given a gift card to True North Yarn and decided to find the perfect pink for a cardigan. I got the Sandnes Garn Sisu yarn in colour 4600 - Jazzy Pink. I am knitting the Macaron Cardigan by Espace Tricot. It is a DK pattern, but I am using fingering weight, I got gauge! I have to have this finished by the wedding, October 15. Can I do it? I hope so. It’s coming along well in the first few days, and the yarn is so soft. If you want to stay updated, I am doing a daily update on my Instagram.

I am hoping to being a more regular blogger, and write monthly, but for now I must get back to my knitting. I have a cardigan to make.
